Where my dreams took root and adventure began! After finding the perfect property with ample land, rustic barns, and an in-law apartment, I embarked on a journey to create a little piece of paradise. One snowy February day, driving by a llama farm where the owner was out cart driving a llama across a snowy field...a real Norman Rockwell vista, I had to stop. This changed everything; I couldn’t resist the charm of these gentle creatures. I ended up buying three yearling males. I kept one of the llamas as the breeding male and sold the other boys to folks looking for companions for their livestock. The male I kept was Twilight and he was my teacher (see the Tribute to Twilight) of all things llama. After purchasing a couple of females for him, the breeding program started and is still going strong.  Over the years, I usually have 2-3 crias born, and I love the raising, training, and showing of the youngsters!

I am now involved with showing the llamas, running a llama show, being on a llama fiber cooperative board of directors, and renting the in-law apartment as an AirBnb so it is good that I finally retired from teaching at the University of Saint Joseph 2022. I do not expect to ever be bored!
